Business Plan Presentations
Join NFTE students as they present their business plans for helpful feedback from the Olin Community. Similar to a mini Expo, attendees will be able to choose which of the 4 concurrent sessions to participate.
Please note: Each session will include 3 NFTE students who will each give a 10-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A. After all 3 presentations and Q&As have taken place, the session will breakout into feedback discussion groups with each presenter. There will be a total of 12-15 presentations.
Sample session:
1:30 - 1:40 = Presenter 1 Business Plan (10 min)
1:40 - 1:45 = Presenter 1 Q & A (5 minutes)
1:45 - 1:55 = Presenter 2 Business Plan (10 min)
1:55 - 2:00 = Presenter 2 Q & A (5 min)
2:00 - 2:10 = Presenter 3 Business Plan (10 min)
2:10 - 2:15 = Presenter 3 Q & A (5 min)
2:15 – 2:45 = Breakout Discussions to provide feedback to presenters

Reverse Engineering the NFTE Model
Join a NFTE teacher, executive director, alumni and its founder, Steve Mariotti, as well as Olin faculty members to discuss what lessons, taken from the NFTE model, Olin can apply to enhancing K-12 engineering education. This group will discuss the recent, national movement to bring engineering into K-12 curriculum and will hear secrets of NFTE's success. Following the introduction, participants will break into groups to brainstorm ideas according to engineering disciplines (ie: material science, design or electronic and mechanical engineering) and the best way to bring each into K-12 education.
